WOMAN SURVIVES SIX HOURS AT SEA FOLLOWING PLANE CRASH THAT KILLED PILOT AND LEFT FIVE PASSENGERS STRANDED



A woman has been rescued after spending hours stranded at sea, following the crash landing of a small plane she was traveling in.

Valerie Jackson was spotted by a Coast Guard helicopter at around 2pm local time on Saturday, several hours after the twin-engine Piper Aztec went down off the Virgin Islands.Up to five others are reported to have been on board, including the plane's pilot who was killed.

Tragically, the child Jackson was traveling with has not been found, according to local news.
The small craft was en route to St Thomas, having delivered newspapers to St Croix and picked up passengers for the return trip.
