TUIFLY TO OFFER INTERLINE E-TICKETING AFTER TRAVELPORT DEAL

TUIfly, Germany’s third largest airline, is implementing interline e-ticketing in an IT services deal with Travelport.The first interline partner is Lufthansa, which allows TUIfly.com to book customers on the German flag carrier’s flights and issue e-tickets.
The aim is to broaden the worldwide flight offer for customers and combinability of different airlines through new airline partnerships.TUIfly.com can also distribute, process and fulfil flights of traditional network carriers using e-tickets not only on B2C website TUIfly.com but also in non-Iata distribution channels.
The carrier has joined the Travelport E-Ticket Interchange solution for the exchange of interline e-ticket messages between airlines, ground handlers and travel industry partners.TUIfly head of IT Jörg Ahrens said: “Through this technology, TUIfly.com is delivering greater depth of choice and the ease of worry-free travel for our passengers on partner flights.”
