SWEDISH PASSENGERS HIT BY LUFTHANSA STRIKE

Swedish travellers have found themselves among the estimated 100,000 people affected by the Lufthansa cabin crew strike, with flights canned from Arlanda, Landvetter and Copenhagen's Kastrup airport.

A number of flights to and from Sweden are cancelled, with many of them between Arlanda and Copenhagen, according to Swedavia. At Arlanda airport in Stockholm, 12 scheduled take-offs and landings have been scrapped and a further eight in Gothenburg were cancelled.

“It is more extensive now, but these are destinations that can be reached with other flight companies,” said Henrik Kelfve, spokesperson of Swedavia to the TT news agency.“As this is the third wave, we hope that the travellers booked on Lufthansa flights have taken note.”

While the situation may be dire according to affected passengers, Kelfve claims that it could be worse.
