A former Emirates Airline hostess appeared in a UK court on Monday for being drunk while on duty.

Stephanie Partington, 24, was charged under the Civil Aviation Act after and pleaded guilty to being under the influence of alcohol on a UK-bound flight from Dubai.

The Briton was arrested when the plane landed in Birmingham on April 23 after the captain called the police. She was fired from Emirates when blood tests revealed she was eight times over the limit for flight attendants.

Ms Partington, who told police she had not had a drink for eight hours, was fined £110 (Dh640).
