LION AIR PROMISES CHEAPEST ASIAN FARES

One of Asia's fastest growing airlines, Indonesia's Lion Air, has launched a new low-cost carrier promising flights to Australia and the cheapest fares in the region.Malindo Airways is a joint venture with Malaysia's National Aerospace and Defence Industries and will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
It will have an initial fleet of 12 planes and is expected to grow to 100 within a decade.The airline's prices will be lower than AirAsia, according to Lion Air's president Rusdi Kirana.
But he remained tight-lipped on more details of the airline.Lion Air is the biggest airline in Indonesia with more than 100 planes and another 382 worth $22 billion on order.
