CAPITAL'S FIRST AIR EMERGENCY RESCUE SERVICE TO TAKE FLIGHT NEXT YEAR

Beijing,China : Beijing has given the go-ahead to set up the first professional air rescue team, expected to be deployed next year. 

The aircraft, seven helicopters and three fixed-wing planes, will be based at a new industrial park for aviation at Jinhai Lake, Pinggu district, said the Beijing General Aviation Management Committee. 

There is to be an airport, and aviation research, manufacturing and sales centers at the park, the committee announced at the signing ceremony Wednesday.

The 10 aircraft will mainly be involved with medical and disaster relief within 1,000 kilometers of the city, the committee said Thursday.
