SINGAPORE CARGO STARTS SERVICE BETWEEN D/FW AIRPORT AND BRAZIL
Dallas/Fort Worth : Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is adding its first nonstop all-cargo freighter service to South America with the Friday launch of Singapore Airlines Cargo flights to and from Viracopos, Brazil.
Viracopos is about 55 miles from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Singapore Cargo will start the service with one flight per week, but plans to ramp up to twice-weekly in September, according to the airport.
Singapore Cargo’s new service to Brazil represents D/FW’s first direct cargo connection between Asia and South America.
“We believe this route will further demonstrate that D/FW represents a tremendous gateway opportunity for international air traffic, and hopefully lead to more growth at D/FW and in support of the Dallas/Fort Worth economy," said Jeff Fegan, airport CEO.
The flight is part of a route that goes around the world from Singapore with stops including Hong Kong, Anchorage, Ala.; D/FW Airport; Viracopos; Brussels, Belgium; and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
