CHINA EASTERN TO TAKE OVER SMALL CARRIER
China : The Shanghai-based Chinese airline giant China Eastern Airlines plans to purchase 20 percent stake of China United Airlines from its parent company, reported Xinhua.
The purchase will involve capital of US$13.2 million.
China Eastern Airlines and its parent company China Eastern Air Holding Company, respectively hold 80 percent and 20 percent in China United Airlines.
The China United Airlines will become a wholly owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines after the stake purchase.
