BOEING PROJECTS HIGH DEMAND FOR AVIATION PERSONNEL
Kuala Lampur, Malaysia -- Boeing predicts the Asia Pacific region will require hundreds of thousands of new commercial airline pilots and maintenance technicians over the next 20 years to support airline fleet modernisation.
An estimated 185,600 pilots and 243,500 technicians were required in the Asia Pacific region through 2030, according to findings contained in the "2012 Boeing Pilot & Technician Outlook".
"China will have the largest demand in the region, needing 71,300 pilots and 99,400 technicians over the next 20 years," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes in a statement.
Meanwhile, Bob Bellitto, Boeing Flight Services Global Sales Director said the need for aviation personnel was a global issue, but it was hitting the Asia Pacific region particularly hard.
